Our commitment

We want every visitor — including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, or assistive technology — to be able to find information and reach our services. We work to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice's 2024 rule under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act for state and local government websites.

What we've done

• Text and background colors are tested to meet or exceed a 4.5:1 contrast ratio for normal text.
• A larger base font size and generous line spacing for easier reading.
• A "skip to main content" link and clear, consistent heading structure.
• Full keyboard operability with a visible focus outline on every interactive element.
• Descriptive text alternatives for images and meaningful labels for buttons and links.
• Semantic landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer) and current-page indicators for screen readers.
• Respect for the "reduce motion" setting in your operating system.
• A responsive layout that works on phones, tablets, and computers without horizontal scrolling.
